15 Minutes To Stitch 2021 - Week 26

I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!

My 2021 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year.

  • Week 26: 6 of 7 = 86 %
    • 95 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • June: 24 of 27 = 89 %
  • 2021: 153 of 178 = 86 %
This week has been all about work and trying to incorporate new lessons for the dog based on Nigel Reed's "The Dog Guardian" method detailed in his online course for Aggressive and Nervous dogs. It's quite a brain drain, but life is calmer and easier after a single week.

On the sewing front I feel compelled to continue after last Saturday's Quilt Guild class. The Cheerful Quilt by Andy Knowlton at abrightcorner.com. I also am using a pile of Tula Pink stash to join GnomeAngel for 100 Days 100 Quilts 2021.

So, how did the sewing go?

Top items with progress:
1) Cheerful quilt remaining 12 blocks progress towards completion:

All thin rectangles were added to the red and green assembled pieces:

All pieces pressed and ready to make the final 12 blocks:

8 finished blocks still pinned to the design wall, waiting for the remaining 12 to then assemble the quilt top:

2) Completed June Patterns By Jen 2021 Color Challenge 3 blocks, 12", 6" and my custom 2":

Lil'Trixie is so proud of her June block. Here she is with Lady Kate and sewist Gracie looking on:

Now that the challenge is half-way, Lil'Trixie and I wanted to see the blocks so far.

3) Geo Grid Quilt guild exchange blocks:

Made some progress on pressing the sub-units. Almost ready to start assembling.

4) Kinship Fusion Sampler starting July 1st 100 Days 100 Blocks 2021

Picked fabrics, fussy-cut and laid out for block 1:

Block 1 pieces organized in the sheet protectors I am using to keep everything organized in a binder together:

Block 3 fussy cutting started:

  1. You had another good week, in spite of work being a zoo and the dog training. I really like your fabrics for Kinship Fusion. Looking forward to seeing more of that project come together. Happy stitching this week.

    1. Thank you so much, Kate. It's really great to have a place and time to recap the week. Otherwise I forget my own accomplishments. Thanks for the link-ups! It is great to see projects coming together. I'm looking forward to the Kinship Fusion progression. I've learned a bunch of things already.
