15 Minutes To Stitch 2019 - Week 41
It's a great idea to track my sewing time to provide motivation on my projects. Since I am a fan of Kate's Life in Pieces blog, her 15 Minutes to Stitch 2019 seems like the right thing to do.
My commitment started on Tuesday the 2nd of April, Stitching statistics as of Sunday, October 13:
This week was a tough one at work. Saturday we got a brand new Garage Door opener. The old one was so loud in my office it was disturbing. The technician also upgraded the spring and rollers on the 2nd garage door and sold us Universal Remotes to control both doors from each car. There are other bells & whistles, but those are the best parts. To get the tech access to the unit, Hubby and I moved 12 boxes of books into the bedroom. Last night, I unpacked them. There are 9 boxes in that set left in the garage. Then there is another smaller set still in the garage that needs to be brought in and unpacked.
Since the Bosal Katahdin On-A-Roll 2.5" batting separated with funky folded edges early on Saturday, no sewing happened while I searched through the box contents photos to find Jeanne Harwood Heat Press batting ‘tape’.
Now that Sunday is here, everything's back on track and more fabric and batting rope has been added to the coil.
I ordered a Cricut Maker with the holiday sale which should arrive by next Friday to help make Trixie's sisters. I accepted an order for 2 before Christmas and this will help make the process go much faster. So that means this Jelly Roll Rug needs to get done ASAP.
Accomplishments this week included from last week's list:

Accomplishments this week included from last week's list:
- Continued the Jelly Roll Rug coil creation; there's less to finish than is already coiled
- Added ALL PIGS and submitted the 2019 Q4 Finish-A-Long blog post
- Skipped determining any more decorating for the girls' apartment. They have been hanging out on the sewing machine and checking on my work most of the week. Busy-Busy!
Next steps:
- Finish Jelly Roll Rug coil
- Start Jelly Roll Rug zigzags (re-watch 2 youtubes about this part)
- Start watching Cricut software training videos
- Determine best way to get custom shapes into Cricut software for Draw & Cut to have the hand-sewing lines drawn before the pieces are cut out
How are you doing with consistency this week?
We should take a page from your book, our garage door sounds like it's being murdered when it opens and closes. You've been doing well at working in your stitching time. Hope this next week is even better.
ReplyDeleteIt was so worth the investment in the new opener! We didn't realize that the springs only last about 10-years before they start to degrade. My favorite part right now is that the opener has a motion sensor and turns the light on when I enter the garage. If I am carrying a garbage bag, no need to stop and turn on the overhead lights, the one garage door light turns on automatically. I'm loving the upgraded technology. This is the first time hubby and I have had an attached garage in 21-years together with an opener.
