2022 Planning - DawnyK

Yvonne @Quilting Jetgirl is hosting another year of Planning Party! So for #2022PlanningParty what's the plan?

First let's review 2021's Planning!

Purpose: Love of fun sewing and other projects!!!

First, I've decided to participate in 2 paid BOM's both through Pink Door Fabrics:

  1. Smitten - English Paper Piecing using Heather Ross' Malibu fabric line. I LOVE Heather's Trixie line and have made the Trixie doll, and made progress on her companion Thomas this year. STATUS:
    1. Separated paper pieces for blocks through month 6, separated fabrics to align with the blocks.
    2. Since I decided to try my hand at a practice EPP piecing, so have the gluing done, but that's it. Will test using the Flat Back stitch first:

  2. Nebula - Jaybird Quilts has designed the pattern and using Tula Pink fabrics. STATUS:
    1. Collected the monthly block packages, still working on the Journey to Nebula projects to practice using the templates
    2. Purchased a 2nd kit from another participant to make an additional wall quilt to decorate the bedroom
    3. Finished the first Journey to Nebula project: Seaside:

    4. Second project: Rock Candy is sandwiched and ready for quilting:

AND for the BYOF (bring your own fabric) BOM Patterns By Jen's 2021 Color Challenge  I've kept up finishing each month on time including making a 2" square for my littlest girl mouselet, Lil'Trixie. In addition, I've completed Lil'Trixie's quilt with decorative stitching and she's got it.

On to facing the future 2022!

Goal: Fun sewing as the Free Motion Quilting Rockstar that I am

Objectives:
  1. Graduate from String And Story's Free Motion Quilting Academy started in Fall 2021
    1. For each motif: watch video, doodle, practice sandwich & sampler block
    2. Whole cloth: design & stitch
  2. Finish Angela Walter's Fantastic Feathers panel quilt
  3. Finish Journey to Nebula Project and Nebula Kit quilts
Blogging/Tracking Systems:
  1. Finish-A-Long style quarterly tracking and blog/IG
  2. Weekly 15-mins to stitch towards 50% days goal also setting a simple project goal for each week
  3. Monthly track UFO's with Quilting Gail's PHD program

Sewing is my release from the stress and pressure of life. That is the most important piece and I will continue to keep that as my primary goal over all others.

I am working on living my best life and loving everything.

Wishing you a Happy New Year and time and space to do what you love!!!
