December 2020 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

December Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled for 2020 and Q1 of 2021, I am continuing with the format anyway. AND Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person are hosting Fettle Those Finishes!

Since the #wooliamgangstnicolasdaygiftswap2020 was opened on December 6th, I have posted the two November finishes blog posts with photos and don't want to repost the photos here:

December Sewing objectives realized and progressed:

1. Patchwork Ornaments for my designated secret gift receiver in the Quilt Guild. Hope she enjoys them. I made two that are reversible instead of plain on the back side. (Part of One Monthly Goal December)

2. Two Gift Blocks adjusted from Tutorial by Nan Slaughter on her blog Pots and Pins to make Mug Rugs. (Part of One Monthly Goal December)

3. Finished both December blocks for Patterns By Jen's 2020 Color Challenge (Part of One Monthly Goal)

4. Continued making blocks had 16 at the end of last month of Easy Breezy Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville 2020 Leader/Ender Challenge started July 1, 2020. While others quilters are spending quality time getting lots of blocks done, I am strictly sewing the kits when there are no other pieces in my main project(s) to leave under the machine between stitching sessions. I am in no rush and can continue past June 30, 2021 if needed to have enough blocks for a quilt. Now, there are 21 blocks on the design wall

5) Continued the Journey 2 Nebula training projects by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts:

a) Seaside table runner top is together, backing and binding fabrics picked. Same fabrics expected in the Lucky charm pillow. Both to go in the living room near the jelly roll rug also from the same fabrics (except the white). The fabric is waiting for the Rock Candy table topper quilt top to be completed and both can be sandwiched at the same time and quilted one after the other.

b) Rock Candy table topper is a completed flimsy:

c) Decorative Gemstones Pillowcases are done and inspected by the gang:

d) Infinity Stones throw in the Maywood Studio's Kimberbell Basics fabric line has 3 stones cut and different layouts on the background to consider once all 7 are cut:

6) Selected, bought online and received the fabric for the 2 donation kids pillowcases for the January guild meeting

7) Remaking the 6" block for the 2018 Color Challenge January Red with different fabrics which go better with the rest of the blocks:
