November 2020 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

November Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled for 2020, I am continuing with the format anyway. AND Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person are hosting Fettle Those Finishes!

Sewing objectives realized and progressed:
1. Finished both November blocks for Patterns By Jen's 2020 Color Challenge (Part of One Monthly Goal)

2. Finished 2 Gift Blocks for Quilt Guild December Party raffle. Tutorial by Nan Slaughter on her blog Pots and Pins. (Part of One Monthly Goal November)

3. Finished the #wooliamgangstnicolasdaygiftswap2020 #2 (FAL #19) no photos until it is delivered and opened in December.

4. Continued making blocks had 11 at the end of last month of Easy Breezy Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville 2020 Leader/Ender Challenge started July 1, 2020. While others quilters are spending quality time getting lots of blocks done, I am strictly sewing the kits when there are no other pieces in my main project(s) to leave under the machine between stitching sessions. I am in no rush and can continue past June 30, 2021 if needed to have enough blocks for a quilt. Now, there are 16 blocks on the design wall

5) Continued the Journey 2 Nebula training projects by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts:

a) Seaside table runner top is together, backing and binding fabrics picked. Same fabrics expected in the Lucky charm pillow. Both to go in the living room near the jelly roll rug also from the same fabrics (except the white). The fabric is waiting for the Rock Candy table topper quilt top to be completed and both can be sandwiched at the same time and quilted one after the other.

b) Started assembly of the Rock Candy table topper, the wedges are together:

6) JAX MQG Gift Ornament before December meeting. Flying Geese in progress using Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Wing Clipper I ruler

7) Gift Blocks for family. HST bows ready for trimming then sew into a row and attach to the Gift Boxes

  1. You’re doing so much better than me with your fettling! I’m getting ready to write my December furtling post and am shocked at how much I thought I might get done when I wrote the list in October - what was I thinking?!! The blocks all look lovely and I’m impressed with your snoopervisors and their dedication. Thanks for furtling xx

    1. It is always hardest to live up to our own standards! You are doing terrific with the main quilt project. I've been doing smaller milestones. We are both doing great! Any week with sewing is a good week!!!! Looking forward to seeing your December Furtle!
