January 2023 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update
January Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

Wow, what a month you’ve had! The list is looking very promising with finished cells coloured green already and all your finishes look wonderful. I’m pleased your stretching session went well and the videos are helping you feel better. If it helps, I always buy/make a cushion inner which is the next size up from the cover it’s for, so a cushion cover 18” x 18” has an inner of 20” x 20”. Thanks for Furtling and Fettling and hooray for finishes *waves pompoms*
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much! Yes, I didn't realize I should make the inner bigger than the cover! *admires pompoms*
DeleteI find it fills the cover out nicely. A way to do the equivalent now would be to press the cover flat, pin and then sew 1/2” (or whatever you fancy) all the way round the edge (turning at the corners rather than going to the edge) to create a false binding/flange type affair. It’s really effective and might be just the thing for your lovely cushion.
DeleteOh, thank you! That's a lovely idea!!! I will come back to it and make some adjustment.
DeleteGoodness fantastic finishes there! I love the by Annie bags!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much! The By Annie items are so much fun!!!
DeleteGreat stitching time metrics for January! You finished some fun projects this month. Happy stitching in February.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kate! Enjoy Feb stitching!!!
