May 2022 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

May Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled in 2020 Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person started hosting a monthly progress link-up: Fettle Those Finishes!

May was great with extra holiday time off. However, moving into June started another brain-burning work engagement including another onsite. I am so happy to be home again. Since I still don't have much time for sewing, I have kept to smaller sewing goals to be able to feel good.

How did sewing go?

May Sewing objectives realized and progressed:

1) UFO #40: Thomas with his overalls and playtent:

That means the entire Trixie and Thomas fabric panel is finished:

Trixie also got a pair of overalls since they look so cute:

2) Sallie Tomato Lucky Penny Wallet from kit, but with gold hardware substitute. Mr. Hubby Bear even complimented that it looks very professional.

3) Mailbox cover from Tarp with Cricut cut house numbers in sparkle holographic vinyl:

4) Quilt Guild held an embroidery workshop and one of the instructors lent me her machine. I completed all 4 projects:

5) Quilt Guild Challenge Block: 12.5" square Red, White and Blue with Flying Geese. Picture of the block next to the design created in EQ8:

6) Quilt Guild 30 Exchange Blocks:

7) Batik Fabric furniture backing for the living room. Bureau that has become an end-table is not facing a wall so needed an easy finish.

8) Continued Donation Pocket Quilts for HoneyBee Quilters - more tops are ready to assemble:
A little encouraging message card will go in the pocket on the back. The wooden heart is for illustration as there is one wooden heart sewn in the layers of each pocket quilt.
