15 Minutes To Stitch 2022 - Weeks 23 & 24

I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!

My 2022 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021.

  • Week 23: 4 of 7 = 57 %
    • 37 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 24: 4 of 7 = 57 %
    • 61 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • May 30 of 31 = 97%
  • June 6 of 12 = 50%
  • 2022: 136 of 163 = 83 %
After the prior week with an extra day off from work, the past 2 weeks have been incredibly stressful and busy. Our client has a 'go live' with their new client in the next few weeks with lots of tests between now and then. Our client wanted us on site with them last week. A colleague and I live in the same city so we drove down in the Rental Car together. It was so fun to get to know her better and as it was her first work trip, we all got to show her the ropes. Unfortunately, the stress to get other people not on-site to complete activities was extremely high. My team did manage to hit our first milestone that we had been striving for the last 4 months.

I only worked on my hand-sewing projects once while I was there. The first night, Monday, we worked in the office until 9pm so it was very difficult. One night, I worked in the hotel room until after 11pm and didn't fall asleep until 1am.

Now that I am back, some progress has been made on the projects.

Below I am sharing my weekly goals that help me focus on a small task to get me breaking down large milestones into small bites.

Sew one thing:
Prior post week: Adjust Trixie and Thomas overalls with a snap and fix Trixie's original top - Not Completed
This week: Geo Grid quilt center circle

So, how did the sewing projects go?

Top items with progress:
1) GeoGrid quilt sandwiched drying to be ready for quilting:

The dogs could not stand my being away from them after 4-days away, so they ended up with 3-year old Osky in the crate and 12-year old Kipper tethered to the crate with his leash and 2 stacked travel dog beds. They were very good.

2) JAX MQG June Challenge Block - Black or White and a color that starts with the same initial as one of the names of the creator. There were two colors with both my initials: Dark Khaki and Desert Khaki and with the Fat Eighth out of my stash, the contrast was higher with black:

3) Trixie's top needed a little mending after Osky tried to chew it. I guess he thought the strawberries looked really good!
It is the back of her top that was fraying and with holes when this photo was taken. Now, it's mended and ready for wearing again when she wants it. Very hard to get her out of her Dungarees!

4) Started adding snaps to the back of the Dungarees so they are more form-fitting after being put on. Very helpful for the mice to keep their bums covered. First of 4 snaps anticipated installed. The center back must stay where it is because their tail holes are in the correct position.

    1. Thank you so very much! I hope The Committee is not going to be too harsh on me this quarter. My group may end up back at the client site again in a couple weeks. I will continue to sew on until I get the word. I love that Garage Floor too! It cleaned up so easily and it makes me so happy to walk on it.
