April 2022 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

April Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled in 2020 Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person started hosting a monthly progress link-up: Fettle Those Finishes!

April, another month that flew by. Work has continued more stressful than last year. The dogs and I are enjoying walking outside. It's so refreshing. Since I don't have much time for sewing, I have kept to smaller sewing goals to be able to feel good.

How did sewing go?

April Sewing objectives realized and progressed:

1. HoneyBeeQuilters 2 tray MugRugs from the Elfin Magic workshop session - this was half the April One Monthly Goal and part of Finish A Long numbers 3 and 4:

2. HoneyBeeQuilters 2 Ginger Bread Applique potholders from the Elfin Magic workshop session - this was half the April One Monthly Goal and part of Finish A Long numbers 3 and 4:
Gracie helped by my birthday Gnome checks the sewing on the potholders

3) Started on scrappy string/scrap assembly for Bonnie Hunter's Rocky Road to Grayson during the HoneyBeeQuilters workshop made 12 triangles on Foundation Yellow Pages from our old home in New Jersey.

4) Toes in the Sand 2022 Block of the Month - Completed the blocks for Month 3 and 4, 2 for the quilt and a practice block in my own fabric choices:

5) My 3 Checkerboard blocks for the 2022 Janome Quilt Along with Janome Canada and Melissa Marginet. I'm using Kona's 2020 color of the year, Enchanted for my non-white. I've also selected Kona Black for sashing/binding and this patterned fabric for backing

6) Continued Donation Pocket Quilts for HoneyBee Quilters - more tops are ready to assemble:
A little encouraging message card will go in the pocket on the back. The wooden heart is for illustration as there is one wooden heart sewn in the layers of each pocket quilt.
