15 Minutes To Stitch 2022 - Weeks 5 and 6

I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!

My 2022 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021.

  • Week 5: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 89 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 6: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 86 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • January 28 of 31 = 90 %
  • February 6 of 6 = 100%
  • 2022: 34 of 37 = 92 %
Work has been overwhelming. So much so that I just couldn't face writing a blog post last weekend. Blogging was too much organization. Also I was focusing on getting the One Monthly Goal totally finished by Monday!

Continuing to tweak my interpretation of life and living based on Abraham Hicks YouTubes and purchased audios. I am practicing looking to myself instead of others for adjusting my thoughts.

I'm going to start sharing my weekly goals that help me focus on a small task to get me breaking down large steps into small bites.

Sew one thing:
Last week: Easy Breezy Doggie quilt sewing, pictures, blog, posts - Completed 2/5
This week: Toes In The Sand Block 2 - quantity 3

So, how did the sewing projects go?

Top items with progress:
1) String and Story Free Motion Quilting Academy

Different basting sprays tested:
  1. S&S HAK Flour paste basting spray with cheap Vodka
  2. S&S HAK Flour paste basting spray with isopropyl alcohol
  3. Washable Glue diluted with water
  4. Washable Glue diluted with cheap Vodka
  5. Washable Glue diluted with isopropyl alcohol

I still need to write up a blog post and share my experiences to Facebook Quilt Guild groups.

It's time to make a new batch with cheap Vodka, that's my favorite!

This work is on hold for the moment as some piecing is my current priority, see 3 below.

2) Easy Breezy Doggie sized quilt from Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville's 2020 Leader/Ender 6" blocks was totally completed!!! In time to successfully complete One Monthly Goal on January 31st. For details on the quilt, see the finishing post HERE. And the quilt is soaking to follow Vicki Welsh's Save My Bleeding Quilt protocol. The dark brown backing released dye into the water in the first hour, so for the second hour, the water was refreshed. Looking forward to washing it maybe tomorrow and having it on the sofa with my dog.

3) 2022 BOM Toes in the Sand (1 sampler block and 2 kit blocks):
First Blocks, AKA January are completed:

Second Blocks, AKA February, training block from Maywood Studios's Kimberbell Basics is done and the Tula Pink fabrics cutting is in progress, but no photos:

  1. So sorry the week before was so over whelming on the work front. I've had weeks like that and they are never fun. Congrats on all the progress and stitching time the last few weeks. And congrats on the finish, Easy Breezy Doggie tuned out beautifully.
