15 Minutes To Stitch 2022 - Week 7
I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!
My 2022 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021.
- Week 7: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 111 minutes/day average across 7-days
- February 13 of 13 = 100%
- 2022: 41 of 44 = 93 %
Feeling like work and sewing are both pedal to the metal lately. Having a great time, but not really thoughtful about how to communicate it with other people.
Continuing to tweak my interpretation of life and living based on Abraham Hicks YouTubes and purchased audios. I am practicing looking to myself instead of others for adjusting my thoughts.
I'm sharing my weekly goals that help me focus on a small task to get me breaking down large steps into small bites.
Sew one thing:
Last week: Toes In The Sand Block 2 - quantity 3 - Completed 2/11
This week: FMQA Sampler flimsy center webbed
So, how did the sewing projects go?
Top items with progress:
1) String and Story Free Motion Quilting Academy
Different basting sprays tested:
- S&S HAK Flour paste basting spray with cheap Vodka
- S&S HAK Flour paste basting spray with isopropyl alcohol
- Washable Glue diluted with water
- Washable Glue diluted with cheap Vodka
- Washable Glue diluted with isopropyl alcohol
I still need to write up a blog post and share my experiences to Facebook Quilt Guild groups.
It's time to make a new batch with cheap Vodka, that's my favorite!
This work is on hold for the moment as some piecing is my current priority, see 3 below.
2) Easy Breezy Doggie sized quilt from Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville's 2020 Leader/Ender 6" blocks was washed and dried and is wonderful to use! This is replacing the shredding quilt.
Second Blocks, AKA February are completed:
4) Free Motion Quilting Academy Sampler (FAL #7, flimsy is Feb OMG). Flimsy center pieces all cut out. Had to trim the sashing since could only get enough out of the blocks to cut 10.5" square raw. First few columns are webbed together:
5) Smitten EPP with Pink Door Fabrics (FAL #56): Spent 4-hours on Sunday confirming the papers and fabrics provided match what's expected. Looks good to me and I've finished separating the final 5 months papers and fabrics for each block.
I am debating if I want a border or really 3 borders.
6) HoneyBeeQuilters Guild is collecting pocket quilts with hearts (wooden or buttons) sewn inside. I've started and have 2 of the quilt tops ready for sandwiching. I've ordered a large number of hearts and hope to make several before the next guild meeting.
