15 Minutes To Stitch 2021 - Week 2
I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!
My 2021 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year.
- Week 2: 4 of 7 = 57 %
- 38 minutes/day average across 7-days
- January: 7 of 10 = 70 %
- 2021: 7 of 10 = 100 %
This week at work was more intense then I expected. Old project finally wrapping up with unanticipated tasks that needed to be done. And the new project ramping up with deadlines that lead to a billable milestone. So, the pressure was on with everyone else back at work. Luckily Friday turned out great, but it didn't leave much time for sewing part of the week.
So, how did the sewing go this week?
Top items with progress:
2) Received 2021 Nebula BOM shipment #1 with both Blocks 1 and 2 plus the swag
3) Started getting the pattern pieces ready for the gift for my Grandmother by following the suggestions on the Shannon Fabrics Minky Cuddle basics YouTube that came out last week. I will also be following Theresa's suggestions on the video series on making FunkyFriendsFactory Ellie the Elephant from Minky Cuddle also while making the Dachshund.
4) On Facebook, a group of Janome owners have banded together to work on the Quilters Workbook to learn more about what can be done with our machine. We are doing one chapter each Sunday as a self-study and have the group to share progress and ask questions. I've also decided to order supplies to be able to execute all the lessons including a set of quilt blocks. Looking forward to having some new experiences with this machine I have had since September 2017 as I never got to take any classes on this specific model. The Workbook is specifically targeted to the newer model in the same line, so some of the reference information is a little off, but it's easy to find.

It is such a bummer when work forces the stitching time to the side. Hopefully this week went much better. Good luck with all your projects. The Janome group sounds like a really good idea. The machines have so many bells and whistles on them now, it's hard to learn all of them if you don't make a real effort.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kate. I'm so pleased with the Janome group, great that an informal group was created spontaneously to support each other. I'm intimidated by buttonholes and luckily those are in the workbook in a later chapter. Best wishes for a good sewing week!
