15 Minutes To Stitch 2021 - Week 1

I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!

My 2021 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year.

  • Week 1: 5 of 7 = 71 %
    • 80 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • December: 25 of 31 = 81 %
  • 2020: 303 of 366 = 83 % <== Goal achieved!
  • 2021: 3 of 3 = 100 %
This week has been about finishing out the old year which was full of so many self-realizations and tweaks to my understanding of myself. This time at home has been a great reflection of who I am. I have also been more willing to throw my hat over the wall and go for 3 BOM's. And continue to work on the UFO list. I am still continuing the focusing on the top Fettle those Finishes & Sticky Prod Along projects, but the Quarterly Finish-A-Long has started again and I will reference that and make a new blog post as well.

We had a nice quiet Holiday with no visiting just good food, walks together, movie watching and hobby time. Our older dog is doing much better on a protocol for his skin and ears and the puppy is maturing nicely. We are having fun being together almost all the time.

So, how did the sewing go this week?

Finish:
1) Two donation pillowcases (Finish-A-Long #88) requested by one of the local Quilt Guilds to be given to Smile for Casey since our big Quilt Show was not produced in 2020 where pillowcases are made at the show.

The animal fabric was purchased on sale. Yellow and Green are my favorite colors for the Cuff and Accent. I used Laura of SewVeryEasy's YouTube instructions and liked hers the best for the French Seam. I did cut down the first seam to 1/8" before inverting and sewing again.

Top items with progress:
1) Finished cutting the feature fabric pieces for the Journey2Nebula project #8, Infinity Stones throw and started cutting the background fabric:

Updating Mini Archie's Fettle Those Finishes! to push the finishes towards the end of the year.
