October 2020 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

 October Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled for 2020, I am continuing with the format anyway. AND Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person are hosting Fettle Those Finishes!

Sewing objectives realized:
1. Finished  both October blocks for Patterns By Jen's 2020 Color Challenge

2. Since was October I got to use my washable QuiltSmart midi Halloween bag as my purse:

3. Continued making blocks had 8 at the end of last month of Easy Breezy Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville 2020 Leader/Ender Challenge started July 1, 2020. While others quilters are spending quality time getting lots of blocks done, I am strictly sewing the kits when there are no other pieces in my main project(s) to leave under the machine between stitching sessions. I am in no rush and can continue past June 30, 2021 if needed to have enough blocks for a quilt. Now, there are 11 blocks on the design wall

4. Red-Yellow-Blue Bandannas and Jeans quilt (FAL #29) has finally been finished. This was the oldest UFO on my Finish-A-Long list from 2015. Wanting to do this pattern from the book Japanese Folded Patchwork by Mary Clare Clark caused me to buy my first Janome and get started by buying bandannas and sewing them together. Then I took a Learn To Quilt class and never went back to finish this non-traditional quilt.

The gang did an excellent job snoopervising, you can see them admiring the label in the 3rd photo:

5) Started the Journey 2 Nebula training projects by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts:

a) Picked Fabrics for Seaside table runner and Lucky charm pillow to go in the living room near the jelly roll rug also from the same fabrics (except the white):

b) Cut fabrics and created layout for Rock Candy table topper:

6) Finished #wooliamgangstnicolasdaygiftswap2020 #1 (FAL #2). It still has to be a secret so the pictures will need to stay vague until it is delivered.

7) Started the #wooliamgangstnicolasdaygiftswap2020 #2 (FAL #19) the photos will need to be vague on this one also, but I don't have any yet.
