 August Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

Starting August post earlier in the month to try and capture everything as they get done.

Sewing objectives realized:
1. New Masks using electrostatic materials. Washable mask: Cotton next to face with 2 layers of silk.  Disposable mask 2 layers of polypropylene. Both masks have network cable wire for keeping the shape over the cheeks and nose. The silk is extra material from the Parasols quilt on my main page. Took a few tries to get the elastic the right size for hubby. Another Fabric & Poly Face Filters set for Hubby were sewn after Sir Tom handled the supplies Quality Checks

2. Finished the 2nd July and both August blocks for Patterns By Jen's 2020 Color Challenge

3. Soaking, wash, and dry completed of the Carolina Moore (CraftMoore)'s Cricut Maker Block of the Week, the Sequel sampler quilt
All the testing steps and lessons learned are available on this PAGE.

And the quilt is hung in my office when hubby put up a picture hook for me to use my remaining Hang-It-Dang-It.

4. Donation improv blocks for the Modern Quilt Guild to my local guild to assemble together

5. Donation Foundation Paper Pieced blocks for another local MQG done, took 18.5-hours to create both 12.5" blocks by Joe June and Mae

6. Finally hung the Thread Painted Sunflowers from the Joyce Hughes class in New Jersey on October 7, 2017 in my new Sewing HQ!

7. Made six Easy Breezy Leader/Ender blocks for the 2020-2021 Challenge with Bonnie Hunter

8. The Sewing HQ! also got cleaned up in August with the 3 final moving boxes unpacked and the closet organized.
No more box stack in front of this corner of shelves:

Closet is now organized and usable

9. Some fun stuff was receiving new clothes for SirTom so that he's more comfortable in the Florida weather

What did you get done in August?

    1. Thanks! It is fun and they are easy to use. I use the Small and Medium sizes. I have a Large one, but it's huge and heavier so it needs a stronger picture hook. For my largest quilt, I use a curtain rod with 3 wall hangers. Looking forward to starting the StickyProdALong!!!
