September 2022 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

September Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled in 2020 Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person started hosting a monthly progress link-up: Fettle Those Finishes!

Since Kate at Life In Pieces has stopped posting the 15-minutes to stitch link-up and my life has gotten busy, this monthly post will be my main tracker. My 2022 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021.
  • Week 37: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 63 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 38: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 82 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 39: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 95 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • September 30 of 30 = 100%
  • 2022: 243 of 273 = 89 %
On September 1st, Janome America emailed that I was one of the 5 lucky winners to receive the Sumertime Skill Builder Giveaway 2022 prize package. The 12 training videos are still available on their website and Facebook page: Janome Sewing Machines.

September also included the local QuiltFest Jacksonville Quilt Show hosted by 6 local guilds as an all volunteer group. I am a member of one of the guilds so am expected to participate. I spent 2-hour shifts all 3-days plus helped with quilt organization for hanging after judging and take-down after the show closed. I had 2 quilts in the show receiving very helpful judge's comments and won the Opportunity Quilt that my guild had made for raising funds towards one of our charities.

  1. What a busy month! And yet you’ve found time to do lots of sewing alongside helping arrange/setup/at the quilt show - it just shows how doing some sewing almost every day makes a difference across the month. I’m sorry the Life In Pieces link up has ended, but I’m glad you can use The Furtle to keep track of your sewing minutes and projects - that’s one of the reasons I made the ‘rules’ so lax, I wanted people to use the link up for the posts they want to write and it’s working. Hooray!
