August 2022 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

August Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled in 2020 Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person started hosting a monthly progress link-up: Fettle Those Finishes!

August was a month of downs and ups. Mr. Hubby Bear had a lot of health and car challenges and I finally got to go on my very first Quilt Retreat.

How did sewing go?

August Sewing objectives realized and progressed:

1) Added a Tula Pink ribbon to my cross body phone pouch made from Tula Pink's Daydreamer fabrics. It makes me smile every morning when I put it on to walk the dogs. I even took it and wore it while walking early morning during quilt retreat.

2) Hand basted DIY seam roller for pressing under a small item like inside a long sleeve:

3) By Annie Petit Fours Basket to help with EPP (needed the seam roller to finish):

4) Tula Pink Alchemy months 1 and 2 progress in cutting and basting, this is my favorite photo out of the 11 fabrics:

5) EPP Training Tablerunner - Made progress stitching the glue based hexies using the flatback stitch and SewTites to hold the pieces together. Rows 1 and 2 are sewn together. Row 3 is ready to add. Rows 4 and 5 are in progress.

6) Completed Hold Tite Folio from pattern by LillyellaStitchery and purchased metal plates from her too to make it easily:

7) Boxy Clear Pouch - all supplies cut and ready for assembly:

8) Retreat Flamingo fabric Bucket Hat

9) Retreat Flamingo T-shirt embellished

10) 2022 Exchange Blocks flimsy:

11) Adjustable Jelly Roll Race flimsy:

12) Fat Quarter Shop Work In Progress Bag: cut, quilted and assembly started using the Heather Ross Trixie Fabric Line:

    1. Thank you so very much! I am switching to just monthly Furtling instead of weekly posts. Thank you for the link-ups.
