September 2021 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update
September Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

While the FinishALong organized group was cancelled in 2020 Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person started hosting a monthly progress link-up: Fettle Those Finishes!
September has been crazy busy at work and at home. I'm not even sure what all happened. Projects ended, projects started, projects moved along. I did software trainings and a demo.
Personally, I'm going through so many changes around health with Dr. Mindy Pelz Menopause Reset program. My body is definitely responding in a good way.
Okay dokay, let's see about the sewing!
September Sewing objectives realized and progressed:
1. Started String and Story's Free Motion Quilting Academy with HollyAnne Knight. Initially started with doodling and starting with a couple quilt sandwiches. Meander/Stipple, Loopy Meander and Swirls:
2. Finished all 2 of 3 sizes of my September blocks for Patterns By Jen's 2021 Color Challenge:
5. Got 11 blocks done in GnomeAngel's 100days100blocks2021. I'm using Tula Pink fabrics in my stash including recent acquisitions from her Homemade fabric line.

3. Continued making blocks of Easy Breezy Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville 2020 Leader/Ender Challenge started July 1, 2020. While others quilters are spending quality time getting lots of blocks done, I am strictly sewing the kits when there are no other pieces in my main project(s) to leave under the machine between stitching sessions. I am in no rush and can continue past June 30, 2021 if needed to have enough blocks for a quilt. The blocks are down off the design wall so I am not keeping any count temporarily.
I've learned from looking at Bonnie's finished quilt that I am heading in the right direction with a few tweaks. And I am also adjusting my scrap management to focus on creating the 1.5" versions, moving all other smaller cotton pieces to recycle into pet beds by one of my quilt guilds.
4. Happy Go Lucky Unicorns - Fabric Cafe 3 1-yard fabrics in a roll from 2016. First of 18 Pin Wheels created for this quilt.
