15 Minutes To Stitch 2021 - Weeks 35, 36 and 37

I loved participating in Kate's Life in Pieces 15 Minutes to Stitch since 2020 and am a fan of her blog. She's continuously hosted since 2011!

My 2021 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year.

  • Week 35: 5 of 7 = 71 %
    • 97 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 36: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 90 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 37: 6 of 7 = 86 %
    • 49 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • August: 24 of 31 = 77%
  • September: 11 of 12 = 92%
  • 2021: 221 of 255 = 87 %
So hard getting back into the weekly posting after a week off. But back again after 3 weeks, with a holiday. I've done more cleaning on the weekends when I normally blog. It has been harder to think of anything to say. Dogs and heath projects have bubbled up quite a bit on the priority list.

I did sign up for the Fall 2021 cohort of the String and Story Free Motion Quilting Academy with HollyAnn Knight. I've ordered some lovely fabrics for my class pieces. It was shocking how many FQ's I could pull from my stash that aren't my happy colors and are going to be used for practice. More to come as that ramps up in the next couple weeks.

So, how did the sewing projects go?

Top items with progress:
1) Picked up the 30 blocks from the exchange to go with my pictured twelve personal blocks in the Geo Grid pattern. No picture of those yet, but once I get to putting them up on the design wall the photos will start coming:

2) Started playing around with a Quilting Plan for Cheerful Christmas during String and Story's Quilting Plan Challenge 5-day mini-class:
More to come on how this design changes over the next couple months during FMQ Academy.

3) Modern Quilt Guild QuiltCon 2022 Artisan Challenge - printed out EQ8 designs for starting to cut the provided and background fabrics:

4) PBJ Monthly Color Challenge - 3 September Blocks: Designed the FPP for the 2" version for Lil'Trixie to go with her other blocks (Jan-June for reference):

5) Kinship Fusion Sampler 100 Days 100 Blocks 2021, finished twenty-one more blocks in the collection all from Tula Pink fabrics:

  1. It can be hard to get back in the blogging groove. You've made really good progress on your projects, lots of DONEs marked on your list. Happy stitching this week.
