15 Minutes To Stitch 2019 - Week 37

It's a great idea to track my sewing time to provide motivation on my projects. Since I am a fan of Kate's Life in Pieces blog, her 15 Minutes to Stitch 2019 seems like the right thing to do.

My commitment started on Tuesday the 2nd of April, Stitching statistics as of Sunday, September 15:
  • Week 37: 6 of 7 = 86 %
    • 55 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • September: 12 of 15 = 80 %
  • 2019: 85 of 167 = 51 %
My goal is to sew more than 2 days/week (2 of 7 = 29%)

It is so much fun to be sewing again especially with my biggest and most elegant machine. I love the new house and we are starting to really make it home. This weekend hubby and I assembled/installed  4 new floor lamps, 4 new toilet seats, and then I also made 7-weeks of veggie mix for the dog (2x/week keeping the individual servings frozen until needed). It's so nice to be settling in, but I could really use a vacation or 3-day weekend to get a little more relaxation accomplished.

Accomplishments this week included:
  1. Assembled Trixie's Ears & Arms
  2. Received the Maywood Sudios Burgundy and Blush Fabric, Bosal batting 2.5" wide rolls, and Missouri Star Quilt Company thread to make a 56 strip Jelly Roll Rug. Got the strips ordered and sewn into one long strip. Trimmed Pressed both the green-ish & ivory fabrics, made it to the pink
Trixie Ears and Arms assembled

Jelly Roll Rug supplies received

Sorted Rug strips

Strips sewn together

Trimming & Pressing folds and seam allowance - made it to pink

Fan folded pile - made it to pink

Next steps:
  1. Continue hand-sewing Trixie paired pieces together, assemble and stuff her
  2. Continue Jelly Roll Rug
How are you doing with consistency this week?

  1. Moving and getting settled in is a huge task, but you seem to be on the downhill slide of that process. Hope you've been able to work in some good stitching time and those three days of down time sometime in the near future.
