October 2023 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

October Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from Fettle Those Finishes!

I'm posting my weekly/monthly stats here for linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2023 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021 and 2022.
  • Week 41: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 101 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 425 of 7 = 71 %
    • 81 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 437 of 7 = 100 %
    • 86 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 447 of 7 = 100 %
    • 86 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 45: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 82 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 46: 2 of 2 = 100 %
    • 47 minutes/day average across 2-days
  • October 29 of 31 = 94 %
  • 2023: 290 of 304 = 95%
October brought in a few stressful weeks of work when one of the Executive Committees for the Project left that company. We had to start all over with people in a decision making position but with no knowledge or experience of the relationship. I was added as Project Manager early this year so felt like I was playing catch-up to get in step with this new set of players.

October was successful on the sewing front. I'm pleased with the amount of commitment to my Quilt Guilds and reducing the pressure for meeting the monthly challenges. I've been able to focus more on the projects I wanted for the last several months.

In the area of health, my digestive system has strengthened after I started using Ellie Phillips Complete Mouthcare System. It seems like using her system to change the pH and bacteria lifecycle in my mouth has rebalanced the load on the digestive system. I'll continue using both her products (Gum/Mints) and 2x/day mouth cleaning program. Access to the program is free, but specified for US products. She has suggestions for finding non-US products. I continue receiving so much benefit by daily using the stretching protocol for focusing on Facia rather than muscles. This YouTube by an Olympic coach has reduced my hip, knee and foot facia pain just by stretching 15-20 minutes/day. Also following the Menopause Reset by Dr. Mindy Pelz with fasting is going so much better. Husband and I have also added homemade fermented dairy (yogurt) with 3 different strains suggested by Dr. William Davis in his book Super Gut. We are both feeling much better.

I am so lucky that I spent at least 15-minutes sewing all but 2-days in October. How did sewing go?

    1. Thank you so very much! So nice for a few small projects to keep me motivated this month. What I'm grateful about work is that it's teaching me so very much about myself, my resilience and who I want to be when work gets harder.
