Lap Quilt completed - 7/14/2018
Grandmother's Lovie Lap Quilt is finished
First finished project for Q3 2018 Finish-A-Long. #2018FALQ3DawnTuxKipperKelly
This pattern was so easy from Carolyn's Homespun: http://www.homesewnbycarolyn.com/lovie-lap-quilts.html
I will visit my 100 year old Grandmother and deliver her birthday present. I'm sew excited. It just needs a wash, dry, and to be wrapped in tissue paper like all the presents she always wrapped for us.
UPDATE: Here she is with her Lap Robe:

Congrats on your first Q3 finish already. That looks like it is going to be well used and well loved. Congratulations to your grandmother on reaching 100 too. She must have amazing stories. Mt grandma who reached 99 did.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dione. I love her childhood stories about growing up on a farm with 2 sisters. They shared a horse to go and visit cousins. The horse got loose and as they started the long walk home, a neighbor was bringing their horse back to them. I hope she uses it. It's flannel backed to be cozy and has flannel lining of the hands pocket.
DeleteBeautiful photo of your grandmother ~ she looks really happy with that beautiful (and useful) quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Georgi! I love her boyant spirit. She's so very special.
DeleteOh my, God bless your grandmother!! Doesn't she look beautiful. And I love the pocket idea on the lap quilt. Good idea to back it in flannel too; I think that helps keep it in place on the lap. I'm going to check out the link you supplied for that quilt.
ReplyDeleteKathy, thanks so much. I enjoyed making Carolyn's pattern and it was simple. She's so special. The flannel is a wonderful choice. Hope to see what you make & think!
