One Monthly Goal - August 2026 Proposed

August is already underway by the time I'm writing this and I've missed the link-up but have lofty goals! Time to set a new One Monthly Goal, if you want to check it out head over:

For August there are 3 quilts to complete before the September 5 drop-off date for judging and the quilt show, listed in the most completed to the least. First, Tiny Tumbling Triangles, the Miniature quilt, needs a few extra decorative stitches, the label designed and made then attached to the back. Second, Rainbow Connection Sampler needs binding patches to be hand-mended then the hanging sleeve hand attached plus the label steps of design, creation and hand-sew to the back. Third, quilt Treasured Tumbling Triangles and machine bind on the front. The rest of the finishing steps for that one can be reserved for September's OMG.

Quilt 1: Tiny Tumbling Triangles

This quilt is the smallest version from a Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 pattern, Tumbling Triangles. I’d been wanting to make this pattern for 9-years since my first guild had a class that I couldn’t attend in June of 2017. Final hand-sewing steps include adding blue stitches in the corners to deal with a little bobble in my SITD line and attaching the label once that's been designed and stitched out.

Miniature Tumbling Triangles is 2026 Project 6 in progress for 82-hours and 2-minutes estimated to be 95% complete.

Quilt 2: Rainbow Connection Sampler

Rainbow Connection Sampler has the binding attached with the caveat that a few spots in the binding need hand sewing to attach to the back. And the hanging sleeve is ready for hand sewing attachment. My best option is to do the bindings first to remove the pins and then the sleeve which has strong magnet bars holding it in place. Rainbow Connection Sampler is 2026 Project 17 in progress for 8-hours and 5-minutes.

Quilt 3: Treasured Tumbling Triangles

Treasured Tumbling Triangles will be quilted same as Tiny Tumbling Triangles only at 4x the size. TinyTT had 1/4" strips between lines so TreasuredTT will have 1" strips. For this one, there will be travel lines along the blue triangles instead of burying all the thread ends. So far, there are about 4 of 25 blocks quilted in the Quilt Center. Once the yellow vertical lines are completed then blue triangles will be quilted and finally blue horizontal lines, 3-part quilting plan. I want the binding attached to the front before the end of August so I have to work hard. Treasured Tumbling Triangles is 2026 Project 7 in progress for 39-hours and 0-minutes estimated to be 61% complete.

What are you working on in August 2026?
