One Monthly Goal - January 2025 Completed

The Ottoman Topper was selected for January's goal. The supplies were purchased in 2017, In December 2024, inspiration finally struck with how to assemble a simple version, not the overambitious fitted slip cover originally imagined.
This topper keeps dirt off the ottoman now that the old blue tablecloth seems too ratty to use. The design revision started before the old Heat Press died during my end of 2024 vacation. Since I wanted to press the fabrics before cutting, all the supplies sat for over a week waiting for a new heat press and then finishing a milestone of another project before the topper progress could continue. The top fabric was also used as the backing for Kipper’s couch cuddle quilt that I still use and remember him fondly. The back is flannel so it has a little bit of friction with the ottoman fabric. You can see the meandering quilting on the backing side. There is no batting/wadding. This is my first finish of 2025!!! Ottoman Topper is 2025 UFO 52 completed in 4-hours and 18-minutes.

ReplyDeleteThank you! It was so great to get something done early in the year that felt like a fulfillment of my dream in 2017. The puppy still takes so much of my time and energy. He's an unknown factor every day. I never know how long I will have.
