May 2023 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

May Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from Fettle Those Finishes!

I'm posting my weekly/monthly stats here for linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2023 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021 and 2022.
  • Week 19: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 53 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 20: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 117 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 21: 6 of 7 = 86 %
    • 118 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 22: 6 of 7 = 100 %
    • 54 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 23: 3 of 3 = 100 %
    • 61 minutes/day average across 5-days
  • May 29 of 31 = 94%
  • 2023: 146 of 151 = 97%
May started strong, but lately there is reduced sewing times across most weeks. Two new projects at work, Mr. Hubby Bear had an unexpected infection plus continuing to deal with a corn on our 3-year old Whippet, Osky's foot.

Luckily, we had our open slat fence to both our neighbors replaced with privacy fencing and Osky is much calmer and easier to deal with outside. I've got less accidental cuts and bruises because of this change.

It was a very stressful month but I appreciate my family and my husband's willingness to talk more openly today.

I have continued stretching and feel less pain since the January Stretching seminar with Joe Hippensteel of Ultimate Human Performance. I highly recommend his training (even from the videos) for anyone who wants to keep themselves limber and even get more flexible.

I still did spend time sewing. How did sewing go?

May Projects Completed:

The guild is making children's quilts from the blocks brought in by members all with provided strips of fabric and filled out by out own stash.

The back and self-binding are Shannon Fabrics' Minky Cuddle with dimples
