March Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from
Fettle Those Finishes!
Continuing weekly stats here for possibly linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2021-2024 goal was to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year. 2025 and forward, the goal is any number of minutes in a day for 50% of the year since the puppy is still under 2-years old he's a handful and I want as much time to enjoy him.

March has been interesting. I thought I might take a week off at the end of the month, but that's when my clients started ramping up projects. And then my company executed a restructuring and several team mates have been shifted around. I'm not aware of anyone who was laid off, but the colleague I was training to be my back-up has decided to leave. You can imagine it's been quite disturbing. Luckily dogs and sewing and time with my husband are all balms to my soul.
Focus continues slowly on my projects planned in 2026 see my Furtle planning post

Projects Half Done Progress update:
There were 53 projects already started before January 1, 2026 (up from 52 in 2025). The below screenshot of my projects from the spreadsheet provided (and a little expanded) by QuiltingGail is my 'official' list with reference numbers used throughout the year.
As of March 31st, 6 projects have been completed (Blue Highlight), 2 UFO's and 4 new projects. 2 projects completed in March (Green Highlight on completion Date), 1 UFO and 1 new project. 5 projects progressed in March (Pink Highlight), 4 from UFO's and 1 new project.
How did sewing go?
March Projects Completed:
1) My 16 emerald green blocks for the Quilt Guild's annual Block Exchange are completed and turned in before the due date of June 2nd. 2026 Honeybees Exchange Quilt Blocks as 2026 Project 1 completed in 35-hours and 28-minutes.
2) UFO completed! Sue Spargo Needle Roll is 2026 UFO 52 completed in 13-hours and 43-minutes. I had to replace the wool supplies from the kit with cotton and linen. The roll includes my first attempt at Bullion Knots around the 3/4” circle covering the ends of the elastic. Did you know that a US Penny is 3/4” in diameter? I cleaned one with hubby’s metal polish and then used it for a nice template. I’m so happy to have finished this UFO and March's One Monthly Goal! The pattern was chewed by Wiki last year; luckily it could be taped back together to decipher most of the instructions. Sue’s staff also kindly answered my questions

March Projects Progressed:
1) Moon Garden Smitten2 (2026 UFO 7): Block 6A assembly in progress with both small hexagons assembled and attached plus the corner diamond. Pink Door Fabrics’ Moon Garden Smitten 2 is 2026 UFO 7, Month 6 in progress for 32-hours and 14-minutes out of 245-hours and 38-minutes on the entire quilt top.
2) Charming Sawtooth small quilt (40" x 40") as 2026 UFO 3 pressed and trimmed some of the HSTs.
3) Embroidery 101 Homework to Stitchbook as 2026 UFO 53 has a little hand stitching done, but no milestones yet.
4) Tula Pink's Alchemy Row 1 assembly continued during husband's doctor appointment where I drove. Alchemy, a 2022 BOM, (2026 UFO 6) has Row 1 has progressed in 72-hours and 34-minutes out of 121-hours and 8-minutes on the entire quilt top so far. Example of the colors in this row:

5) I've started a pattern I've wanted to make since a prior Quilt Guild held a class in June of 2017. I'm planning April's OMG to be the flimsy for the Miniature quilt to submit to the QuiltFestJax show in September. The Miniature Quilt category needs at least 12 entries to keep it in the show. Last year there were less than 12 quilts; if that happens again this year then the category will be cancelled the following year. I've got one Miniature ready and this will be a second one! This quilt will be a Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 pattern, Tumbling Triangles. While the originally selected pink fabrics were pretty, I realized there wasn't enough contrast between the blue background and the flower matched pink a 2-color pattern. Instead a Golden Yellow, complimentary color to the blue, fabric in the stash is a better selection contrasting with the focus print from my childhood. EQ8 simulation:
