March 2023 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

March Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

-Janine at Rainbow Hare on 2/28/2019

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from Fettle Those Finishes!

I'm posting my weekly/monthly stats here for linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2023 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021 and 2022.
  • Week 10: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 98 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 11: 7 of 7 = 10 %
    • 80 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 12: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 124 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 13: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 106 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 14: 5 of 5 = 100 %
    • 103 minutes/day average across 5-days
  • March 31 of 31 = 100%
  • 2023: 87 of 90 = 97%
March was all about Mr. Hubby Bear's expected then postponed surgery and then my Birthday. It was a very stressful start to the month. The surgery has been re-scheduled, now with all the proper approvals and sign-offs for mid-April.

My Birthday celebration included business clothes and shoes shopping as well as a nice lunch out. It was a fantastic day. Also, I pre-ordered Tula Pink's new neon fabric collection.

I have continued stretching and feel less pain since the January Stretching seminar with Joe Hippensteel of Ultimate Human Performance. I highly recommend his training (even from the videos) for anyone who wants to keep themselves limber and even get more flexible.

The dogs and I walk every morning with lots of sniffing and keeping a big gap between us and any other dogs to keep Osky relaxed and confident.

I still did spend time sewing. How did sewing go?

March Projects Completed:

1) JAX MQG donation stripe block (2023 Project #17):

One was requested, but I made two blocks with the fabric. Enough blocks were received to make 2 donation quilts.

2) JAX MQG Hand Sewn Donation Blocks (2023 Project #18):

Four blocks were requested for April meeting, but I made two:

3) Pink Door Fabrics' Smitten v2 EPP Block of the Month, Month 2:

4 Half-Hexagons hand sewn together and sewn to the 3 Hexagons sewn in January:

And now that top quilt flimsy row is hanging in my closet waiting for the 4 Hexagons of Month 3:

March Stats:

  • 3 Completed
  • 6 Progressed
  • 44 UFO's remaining
  • 3 2023 started projects remaining
What did you get done in March?

  1. That sounds like a very stressful and busy month, I hope April is a lot less stressful and Mr Dawny’s op goes ahead and is the best one his surgeon has ever done. Thanks for Furtling!
