I want the top of my Janome 2022 Quilt As You Go sampler quilt to have column labels for the type of quilting for each block in that column.
After I tried a few simple plans:
One of my favorite creative friends suggested more elaborate blocks in the header:
What do you think?
I think (after all that!) I like the second one best but with the FMQ of the final fancy one rather than the word as it more matches the length of the other two somehow, even though there’s only three letters more in ‘free motion’ than ‘walking’ or perhaps try it with free motion across two lines rather than one? Do you know how you’ll quilt them or will inspiration strike as you’re preparing the layers? Thanks for showing all the options so I could see them x
ReplyDeleteI like the way your are thinking! It really helps to see the entire quilt top to bottom. IG truncates the height since the photos aren't wide enough. Using FMQ does seem better. I'm looking forward to getting the letters cut out and blocks assembled for the Tuesday quilt guild meeting. I only need to have the block flimsy's for the meeting to make my UFO deadline. Thank you for helping with this project!!!
DeleteAs a follow-up the quilting is not planned yet. I will come up with a plan once the block sandwiches are prepared.
DeleteIf it helps, I use Moldiv (a free photo app) to turn any not-square photos into squares when Instagram is insisting on truncating them. (Sometimes it lets you, sometimes not, and there doesn’t seem to be rhyme nor reason to which it chooses.)
DeleteOh, thanks!
