April Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

Continuing weekly stats here for possibly linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2024 goal is to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year, same as 2021, 2022 and 2023.
- Week 14: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 43 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 15: 6 of 7 = 86 %
- 79 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 16: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 116 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 17: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 75 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 18: 2 of 2 = 100 %
- 30 minutes/day average across 2-days
- April 29 of 30 = 97 %
- 2024: 119 of 121 = 98%
April continued to be busy for work and on the weekends. I made good progress working on one of my QuiltFest challenge quilts.

I am so lucky that I spent at least 15-minutes sewing every day except one in April.
Projects Half Done Progress update:
There were 46 projects already started before January 1, 2024. The below screenshot of my projects from the spreadsheet provided (and a little expanded) by QuiltingGail is my 'official' list with reference numbers used throughout the year.
As of April 30th, 8 projects have been completed (Blue Highlight), 1 UFO and 7 new projects. 0 projects were completed this month (Green Highlight on completion Date), No UFO's and no new projects. 10 projects progressed this month (Pink Highlight), 5 UFO's and 5 new projects.
How did sewing go?
April Projects Completed:
0) None, leaving a space for next month.
April Project Progressed:
1) 2024 QuiltFest Challenge quilt (UFO 3) inspired by the theme "Sew Your Heart Out" using the kit provided fabrics. My friends have made a few suggestions, but I haven't landed on the new technique yet. For reference here's a close-up photo with the fabrics and photocopies of the fabrics cut to the size/shape to audition:
As the Challenge is due for September, I will only share small photos like this one, maybe even just this one for quite some time.
2) Easy Breezy twin size, Quiltville's 2020 Leader/Ender pattern - more than 50 blocks of the 180 needed for UFO, additional kits are ready but no new photos.
3) Alchemy BOM (2024 UFO 6) has more pieces assembled, but no new photos.
4) Smitten2 BOM through Month 9 (2024 UFO 7) Block 4C has been completed and attaching it is in progress.
5) At JAX MQG's March meeting I won a door prize, this time, I picked a quilt kit for Charming Sawtooth (2024 Project 15) fabric squares sewn and split into HST's but not yet pressed and trimmed. Still need to press and cut the background.
6 & 7) For JAX MQG's 10 anniversary birthday party meeting we are participating in a Paint Chip Challenge for these 3 colors:
I've decided to make QuiltSmart bags, Mondo (2024 Project 2) and Bitty (2024 Project 19), purchased Kona colors as close as possible and pulled from my stash:
8) Learn to T-shirt Quilt from a class in April, 2024 Project 17. First 6 shirts from a Thrift store. Need 3 more to make a donation quilt.
9) Honeybee's 2024 Exchange strips for Rows 27 & 32, 2024 Project 18. Row 27 is rolled up and ready to go. Row 32 is in progress.
10) 2021 Color Challenge Twin sized quilt, 2024 UFO 1. Determined the layout and started putting the rows together:
April Stats:

You had a very productive April. Congrats on all the stitching time. It's so easy to get hung up on just finishes, but progress counts for a lot too. Hope you have an equally productive May.
