January 2026 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update

January Review / Furtle

Archie The Wonder Dog

As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from Fettle Those Finishes!

Continuing weekly stats here for possibly linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2021-2024 goal was to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year. 2025 and forward, the goal is any number of minutes in a day for 50% of the year since the puppy is still under 2-years old he's a handful and I want as much time with him to enjoy our time together.
  • Week 1: 7 of 7 = 100 %
    • 83 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 2: 6 of 7 = 86 %
    • 85 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 37 of 7 = 100 %
    • 64 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 47 of 7 = 100 %
    • 33 minutes/day average across 7-days
  • Week 55 of 6 = 83 %
    • 24 minutes/day average across 6-days
  • January 29 of 31 = 94 %
  • 2026: 29 of 31 = 94 %
January has been interesting. For 3 weeks of the month, my work assignment included client deliverables due over the weekends. The great thing about working over the weekends, was earning days off in February. I did take 2 half-days to keep my sanity during the 3 weeks. I learned so much and am doing better with this type of assignment than last September the last time I was on this team. Puppy is growing up and being less destructive. No fun weekend sewing workshops during January. Luckily, the puppy snuggles with me in the extra cold mornings before I have to get up. My husband was amazing with a difficult household project, replacing the track of a pocket door and patching the door that had a crack. "His" door from his music room into a Jack and Jill bathroom slides smoothly where "Her" door from my sewing room into the bathroom has an old track and needs a little muscle. HA!

Sewing continues to be my solace. Focus continues slowly on my projects planned in 2026 see my Furtle planning post HERE.

Projects Half Done Progress update:

There were 53 projects already started before January 1, 2026 (up from 52 in 2025). The below screenshot of my projects from the spreadsheet provided (and a little expanded) by QuiltingGail is my 'official' list with reference numbers used throughout the year.

As of January 31st, 3 projects have been completed (Blue Highlight), 1 UFO's and 2 new projects. 3 projects completed in January (Green Highlight on completion Date), 1 UFO's and 2 new projects. 6 projects progressed in January (Pink Highlight), 4 from UFO's and 2 new projects.
