February Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

To socialize with my online crafty friends I'm linking up with Mini-Archie, one of my favorite online personalities, and his person for the monthly progress link-up from
Fettle Those Finishes!
Continuing weekly stats here for possibly linking up once a month with Kate at Life In Pieces. My 2021-2024 goal was to stitch at least 15-minutes 50% of the days in the year. 2025 and forward, the goal is any number of minutes in a day for 50% of the year since the puppy is still under 2-years old he's a handful and I want as much time with him to enjoy our time together.
- Week 5: 6 of 7 = 86 %
- 38 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 6: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 70 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 7: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 59 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 8: 7 of 7 = 100 %
- 45 minutes/day average across 7-days
- Week 9: 6 of 6 = 100 %
- 80 minutes/day average across 6-days
- February 28 of 28 = 100 %
- 2026: 57 of 59 = 97 %
February has been interesting. For 3 weeks of the month, my work assignment included client deliverables due over the weekends. The great thing about working over the weekends, was earning days off in February. I did take 2 half-days to keep my sanity during the 3 weeks. I learned so much and am doing better with this type of assignment than last September the last time I was on this team. Puppy is growing up and being less destructive. No fun weekend sewing workshops during January. Luckily, the puppy snuggles with me in the extra cold mornings before I have to get up. My husband was amazing with a difficult household project, replacing the track of a pocket door and patching the door that had a crack. "His" door from his music room into a Jack and Jill bathroom slides smoothly where "Her" door from my sewing room into the bathroom has an old track and needs a little muscle. HA!
Sewing continues to be my solace. Focus continues slowly on my projects planned in 2026 see my Furtle planning post
HERE.
Projects Half Done Progress update:
There were 53 projects already started before January 1, 2026 (up from 52 in 2025). The below screenshot of my projects from the spreadsheet provided (and a little expanded) by QuiltingGail is my 'official' list with reference numbers used throughout the year.
As of February 28th, 4 projects have been completed (Blue Highlight), 1 UFO's and 3 new projects. 1 projects completed in February (Green Highlight on completion Date), 0 UFO's and 1 new projects. 6 projects progressed in February (Pink Highlight), 5 from UFO's and 1 new project.
How did sewing go?
February Projects Completed:
1) Turned in 2 Heart blocks for the local Modern Quilt Guilt meeting lottery; unfortunately, I am disappointed that I didn’t win the blocks, they were great. My blocks were from the DizzyQuilter pattern Window to My Heart. I LOVED creating these hearts, they were fun and easy. The most difficult part was resizing to the smaller size. I highly recommend this pattern. My JAX MQG lottery heart blocks were 2026 Project 5 completed in 4-hours and 26-minutes.
February Projects Progressed:
1) Moon Garden Smitten2 (2026 UFO 7): Block 6A assembly in progress with the first small hexagon assembled. Pink Door Fabrics’ Moon Garden Smitten 2 is 2026 UFO 7, Month 6 in progress for 28-hours and 53-minutes out of 242-hours and 17-minutes on the entire quilt top.

2) About 57% of the pieces/parts have been organized including 107 blocks of 180 assembled. Bonnie Hunter Quiltville 2020 Leader / Ender free pattern, Easy Breezy twin sized quilt is 2026 UFO 4, progressed in more than 25-hours and 2-minutes.
3) Charming Sawtooth small quilt (40" x 40") as 2026 UFO 3 has background cut and all HSTs sewn together.
4) Embroidery 101 Homework to Stitchbook as 2026 UFO 53 has a little hand stitching done.
5) Tula Pink's Alchemy Row 1 assembly continued during MQG meeting. Alchemy, a 2022 BOM, (2026 UFO 6) has Row 1 has progressed in 72-hours and 34-minutes out of 121-hours and 8-minutes on the entire quilt top so far. Example of the colors in this row:
6) 16 blocks for our Quilt Guild annual Block Exchange is due June 2nd. This is currently my focus project and was the February One Monthly Goal (OMG). The blocks were all sewn together and 5 fully pressed. After reporting OMG as done, I found 4 blocks where the seam allowances got trapped wrongly and need a little fix. New target is to get these ready for turn in on Tuesday night. The tracker estimates the blocks are 98.8% complete. 2026 Honeybees Exchange Quilt Blocks as 2026 Project 1 progressed in 34-hours and 26-minutes.
