One Monthly Goal - July 2025 Proposed
Count Down to our local September Quilt Show by 7 local guilds has begun. The Days are flying by and it's time for a the 7th One Monthly Goal of 2025, if you want to check it out head over:
Living with the almost 1-year old puppy is my primary focus with my full-time work from home job being the second and then the health, well-being and happiness of my 5-year old dog, husband of 25 years and myself. The puppy is settling in nicely but needs zoomies management several times per day. We love playing with soft Frisbees in the backyard. The dog has been sick this past week and we're waiting for labs to come back before starting treatment so I've already been to the veterinarian twice this month and it's only the 6th.
All that being said, I want to submit a new quilt into the local September quilt show run by 7 local guilds. I'm working on finishing the blocks from the Modern Quilt Guild's national free Sew Along. When I saw the blocks, a new inspiration struck to finish a quilt started with my local MQG chapter in 2020 as a BOM. Back then unfortunately our coordinator had to bow out mid-way through the year and I got stalled in trying to figure out my own blocks to complete the modern quilt.
I have the 7 blocks created in 2020 and put them on a new impromptu design wall in the sewing room by draping a de-elasticized gray fitted flannel sheet over the front of a set of IKEA Billy Bookcases. In the picture the top row of 4 and first 3 from the left side of the 2nd row were created in 2020. The 2 traditional pieced blocks of the 6 in the MQG 2025 Sampler pattern were assembled in June and added to the wall with fine pins.
There are 4 more blocks to assemble in the MQG pattern and then additional fabric squares to fill out 30-blocks. As I started with Fat Quarters and not full fabric pieces, I may need to create some improve blocks to go with the rest.
JAX MQG BOM 2020 + MQG 2025 Sew Along (Citrus Sampler) is 2025 UFO 33 in progress for 36-hours and 43-minutes.
What are you working on in July 2025?
Good luck with your goal this month.
