March and April 2025 Furtle - Fettle Those Finishes Update
March and April Review / Furtle
As defined by Mini Archie, ‘Furtling’ means ‘having a rummage, a delve, a look at the contents of something’. So I have furtled around to see what I have been doing this month and now I’m going to furtle around the blogs of anyone else who links up over at Archie the Wonder Dog!

As of April 30th, 4 projects have been completed (Blue Highlight), 2 UFO's and 2 new projects. 3 projects completed this month (Green Highlight on completion Date), 1 UFO and 2 new projects. 7 projects progressed this month (Pink Highlight), 3 UFO's and 4 new project.
How did sewing go?
March and April Projects Completed:
1) Mend Bandanna and Jeans Quilt 1: Dogs and people daily use wore some holes in our chair covering Bandanna and Jeans Quilt 1. Mending Bandannas and Jeans Quilt 1 was 2025 Project 8 completed in for 1-hour and 57-minutes.
2) Mailbox cover version 3: Tried to start this last September, but then Wiki came along and I didn’t have the mental/emotional space to get it done. Now that he’s 9-months old, we had a happy medium of him walking nicely over the spread out tarp and pattern on the floor and putting him in the pen while I did things where he couldn’t “help”. The cover is put on the mailbox on the nights when the sprinkler system runs as the well water contains contaminants. See the discoloration of the palm tree trunk in the background. It would take more energy and coordination than Mr. Hubby Bear or I have to move the sprinkler head and change the landscaping around the base of the mailbox. Last cover was made about 2-years ago but the silver reflective was on the outside and it didn’t wear well. We will see how long this one works with the brown hardier side facing out. Mailbox cover version 3 is 2025 UFO 50 completed in 3-hours and 18-minutes.
3) Mending Osky's socks: After finishing the Mailbox cover the day before with one sewing machine set up for outdoor thread also used to mend Osky’s socks, Nellie and Hacki prodded me into getting them done. Mending ~30 Osky Socks is 2025 Project 10 completed in 51-minutes.

March and April Stats:

Congratulations on your finishes and progress, and thank you for linking with PHD in 2025. Happy stitching in May!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy May Stitching!!!
DeleteLoads of finishes and even more progress, what a great couple of months for furtling in! I imagine it’s a relief to have the mailbox cover finished, I hope this one lasts for years! And being able to move to right from that to darning Osky’s socks was a bonus, I imagine life is easier now there are more to choose from in his basket and you’re not looking at them thinking “really must get round to mending these”? Thanks for Furtling and hooray for finishes *waves pompoms*
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much! You are right on target between the MailBox cover started just before we got Wiki last September and Osky's dwindling set of socks, these finishes provide so much relief for each day! Thank you for the Furtle Linky!!!!
DeleteI have a love of collage quilts. Yours is wonderful!
