One Monthly Goal - April 2024 Proposed

On to April! It's time for a new One Monthly Goal, if you want to check it out head over:

I must focus on at least one of my QuiltFest entries for the show in September so I'm going to work on that as this One Monthly Goal.

For April, I will determine the Flimsy design for the Patterns By Jen (PBJ) 2021 Color Challenge Twin-sized quilt (UFO 1). The goal is to determine the flimsy layout (will probably not get it fully assembled) with photo tests with potential sashing and cornerstone design. There are 24 blocks, 12 are 12" and 12 are 6" which I want to make into a flimsy inspired by the Doll-sided quilt which will also be entered in the September quilt show.

PBJ 2021 Color Challenge Doll Quilt of 2" blocks:

PBJ 2021 Color Challenge 24 quilt blocks design wall layout (UFO 1):

I've successfully decided on a first set of sashing and cornerstones to make and try out of the same blue background fabric, Horizon, Kona's 2021 Color of the Year. The strips and squares have been cut and are ready for Flying Geese sewing lines.

The fulfillment of this OMG is to determine the layout and supplies needed to complete the flimsy. Hopefully, I'll be able to get started, but am not committing to that for April.

What are you working on in April 2024?

  1. Good luck with your goal. The doll-sized quilt is so cute! Did you paper piece or do regular sewing?

    1. Thank you! The 2" blocks were a combination of FPP and regular pieced depending on my skills for each individual block and the size of the pieces.
